WISHFUL THINKING-Production 2019; Completed January 2020
As the Writer/Producer of Wishful Thinking, I wanted to have a film that featured a middle-aged woman in a romantic short as the lead. I thought it would be a nice change from the young loves you see in movies today. The second reason why I wrote what I did is because I wanted a strong woman not to be a victim with her circumstance. Yes, over half of marriages end up in divorce. But what if she could make a difference and come up with a resolution? No matter what stage of the relationship a couple is in, young or old, all go through difficult times, within their marriage, even myself!. I'm hoping that by my character Liz, thinking out of the box in a comical way, would bring laughter and break the ice while resulting in a powerful and positive change. Thirdly, it was important to show women in the roles of the "film" within the film as a Camerawoman, Sound and Slate role, many that are actually men roles in the real world. And finally, having a Female as a Director of my film, so that she could help portray the viewpoint of how a woman might feel while dealing with an inattentive husband.
